The Institute

Many people have become acquainted with the work of the Hardenberg Institute through practical concerns of everyday life. In this context they meet Karl Martin Dietz, Thomas Kracht, Jürgen Paul and Rudy Vandercruysse. Behind these concerns lie various research efforts: Different aspects of the European intellectual history from ancient times to the present, and epistemological, ethical, psychological and societal questions of our time are being acquired also in cooperation with other scientists. The institute was founded in 1978 as a research institute independently operated by Karl-Martin Dietz and Thomas Kracht, together with others. The scientific work today has also shaped a foundation providing the necessary counterpart for our practical activities. read more
